The number of people getting back to their hometown hits its peak today in Japan.
JR(Japan Railway Company) says reserved seats of Shinkansen are fully booked and non-reserved seats are running at 150% capacity.
U-Turn("Uターン") means people living in Tokyo get back to their hometown, stay there within a few days and then return to Tokyo. U-Turn rush happens on Obon(a traditional Buddhist festival;arount August 15) and Nenmatsu-nenshi(from the end of December to the beginning of January).
I've lived in Tokyo since I was born, so my hometown is Tokyo. When I was young, I was envious of my friends whoes hometown is in the countryside. But now I think I'm very lucky because I can get back to my hometown with a little cost , a little time!
