Shimajirou(Japanese popular character)　[Japanese Education]

In Japan, you can see a Japanese infants who hold a tiger's stuffed animal.
Tiger's name is "しまじろう"("Shimajirou") and is a character of the infantile education that Benesse is offering.

The target is 0-year-old to 6-year-old and it is composed of contents of the intellectual development of the infantile period, the acquisition of the discipline and so on.

If you subscribe to it, at first you can get a tiger's stuffed animal("しまじろう") and then a picture book and a toy or a DVD are delivered every month.

I subscribed to it for my each daughter, so I have two tiger's stuffed animals("しまじろう"), two books, two toys and two DVDs!
I think the toys are good in quality and seems to be improved every year. My younger daughter's one is a little different from my elder daughter's one.

Moreover, the animated cartoon of "しまじろう" is broadcast every week and both of my children like it. The basic theme is friendship and I think it's good for our children.

In China, this infantile education has expanded rapidly and the number of the subsribers is 186,000 in September 2009 and is going to reach 300,000 in 2010.

Manga　[Japanese Education]

"漫画"("Manga") is one of the most famouse culture of Japan in the world. Japanese men and women of all ages love to read a variety of "Manga". Recently they can read them on their mobile phone anywhere.

In Japan, there are "Manga" as the education tools.
For example,many Japanese children read a series of 'Manga' regarding Japanese history whose name is "少年少女　日本の歴史"("Shounen-Shoujyo Nihon-No-Rekishi") and learn Japanese history having a fun. They consist of over 20 volumes and appropriate for adults to learn Japanese history again.

My daughers have many "Manga" regarding the biography of great people all over the world and love them. For example, Marie Curie, Nightingale, Helen Keller, Mother Teresa, Thomas Edison, Wilbur & Orville Wright, Beethoven, Mozart, Napoleon and so on. I know some great people thanks to them.

Sound Book　[Japanese Education]

In Japan, there are a lot of sound books for children in the book store.
Japanese children use sound books as the education tools and learn items, for example English(Alphabet, Words, Songs), Japanese(Hiragana, Katanaka, Kanji, Songs), Mathematics(Numbers, Caluculation) and so on.
And their battery can be replaced and we can use them for a long time.

I bought several sound books for my daughers and they could learn the Japanese songs, alphabet and numbers!
